About me
Life can feel overwhelming at times, whether you're experiencing anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, or feeling stuck. You don’t have to face these challenges alone.
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP and NCPS, offering person-centred counselling for adults and young people aged 16 and over. I provide a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore whatever is going on for you at your own pace.
My work is grounded in the person-centred approach, which means you are the expert in your own life. My role is to listen with empathy, understanding, and acceptance, supporting you in developing greater self-awareness and finding your own way forward.
Through my experience working in schools, private practice and residential treatment settings, I have supported people with a range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, disordered eating, grief and loss, self-harm, addiction recovery and identity struggles.
Sessions are available in person in Walmer, as well as online or by telephone. I offer a free initial phone consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified and experienced person-centred counsellor, offering therapy to adults and young people aged 16 and over. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
My counselling career began with the Butterfly and Phoenix Project, a self-harm support service for young people in schools. I later worked under a short-term NHS contract in secondary schools, supporting adolescents through a range of emotional and mental health challenges.
Since 2015, I’ve been in private practice, supporting adults with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, loss, addiction, and relational difficulties.
Alongside my private practice, I worked as a senior therapist in a residential treatment centre, supporting individuals with addiction and disordered eating. This included in-house training in group therapy and psychoeducation.
I’ve also delivered short-term counselling within a local school in Deal and have recently established Ethereal Counselling as my full-time private practice.
In addition to my degree, I’ve undertaken over 80 hours of CPD in online and telephone counselling, certified by Counselling Tutor. I am committed to ongoing professional development, regularly updating my skills to support safe, ethical, and responsive practice. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
