About us

Welcome to Nightingale Counselling -
Working with Couples, Individuals and Families throughout the UK

Our aim is to deliver a life-changing and enlightening counselling experience to both individuals and couples in a safe and confidential environment. We aim to ensure that you are properly assessed and aligned to the most effective and appropriate counselling discipline that best suits your needs. At Nightingale, you can feel safe in the knowledge that you have found a professional counselling organisation that understands the challenges and concerns you face when you decide to engage the services of a counsellor.

Our Managing Director and Senior Counselling Consultant, Florence Gray, has worked in private practice with couples, individuals and organisations for ten years. Florence carries out an Initial Assessment with every client, after which you will know exactly what type of counselling you will need to enable you to specifically address your personal or couple issues.

Counselling throughout the UK

We offer counselling services to clients throughout the UK, providing either in-person sessions in our Glasgow consulting rooms or virtual sessions with our expert team of UK-based counsellors. When you work with Nightingale online, you're working with a network of highly trained professionals, many of whom have specialist areas of expertise. Our online counselling service has gained popularity thanks to the convenience of scheduling appointments and the widespread use of teleconferencing software like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or FaceTime. Whether you're at home, in your office, or on holiday, our team of experts are on-hand to support you during your counselling journey.

Our Counsellors

PERSONAL COUNSELLORS:

Nightingale Personal Counsellors are all qualified to diploma level. The counsellor assigned to you will have the expertise to work with your specific difficulty. One size does not fit all when it comes to Personal Counselling. We offer services in bereavement, anxiety, panic attacks, children’s counselling, anger management and depression. Counselling disciplines and methodologies such as Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy and Integrative Counselling are used.

COUPLE COUNSELLORS:

Nightingale Couple Counsellors are all trained, qualified and accredited by Glasgow Marriage Counselling Service, now known as Relationship Scotland, whose sister company is Relate. They have expertise and many years of experience working with couples, families, blended families, psychosexual issues and relationships.

The counsellors are selected for their talent, attitude, confidence, generosity of spirit and, above all, their commitment to their clients and the counselling profession.

At Nightingale, we are all governed by a code of ethics and practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. We continue to seek professional supervision and participate in ongoing professional development in order to keep informed of updated methodologies and practice.

At Nightingale, you will attain a deeper level of understanding and self-awareness and you will experience life-changing and tangible benefits which will stay with you and serve you well for the future.

We look forward to working with you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
