Fiona Riley PGDip Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, BACP
Are you feeling anxious, sad, depressed, struggling with relationships? If so, then I offer you the opportunity to explore your difficulties when you will be heard in confidence and will be free to talk safely without fear of judgement or blame.
My experience shows me we all have difficult feelings in one form or another whether this be deciding between different life or career paths and or feeling anxious or depressed. It takes courage to acknowledge difficult emotions and then be willing to discuss them with another person.
People come to see me for many different reasons including anxiety & stress; depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement & separation; eating disorders; self harm; sex and gender challenges. Together we can try to make sense and understand what may be happening for you, those around you and through increased self awareness you can make changes.
As a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I am experienced in a wide range of emotional or relationship difficulties, working one to one with adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds, genders and sexual orientations offering short term and long term open-ended therapy.
The relationship between therapist and client is very important and we start with an initial consultation, sometimes two or more, when you have an opportunity to talk in confidence about your concerns and emotions and a chance to experience how we might work together.
If we decide to work together, we then meet once every week, on the same day, at the same time and regular sessions last 50 minutes.
Therapy can be challenging, stimulating and sometimes painful however, you don’t have to cope on your own. My aim is to support you to understand yourself better and to help you make changes to reconnect with yourself and others.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
