About me
I'm Fiona, a psychotherapeutic counsellor working with teenagers, young people and adults. Are you feeling anxious and worried about not being good enough? Perhaps you struggle with confidence and feel under pressure to keep up or find it hard to talk about what's really going on inside. Are you tired of being someone who finds it hard to to say no to other people, who lies awake replaying conversations in your head? Maybe you look on the outside as though you're confident and coping but inside you feel scared and lost.
You may be finding it hard to deal with difficult life events such as relationship problems or loss and bereavement, or you might feel as though you are struggling to cope with the demands of everyday life.
Whether you are a young person or adult, I will offer a safe, accepting and non-judgemental space where I will be alongside you to explore and understand your thoughts, feelings and experience at your own pace. I believe we often know what feels wrong and what could help, but we need support to untangle our emotions. Developing a therapeutic relationship with the right counsellor can give you the space and clarity to reach a deeper level of self-understanding and help you uncover your own insights and answers to situations that might have felt impossible to navigate.
I work in a way that puts you and your individual needs at the centre of everything. For some people that means talking; For others particularly younger people who find it hard to put feelings into words, it might mean working in more creative and expressive ways. Either way I will follow your lead.
I have spent the last seven years working as a counsellor and counselling lead in a busy secondary school, supporting young people, parents and staff through some genuinely difficult times. That experience has given me a deep, real-world understanding of the pressures that individuals and families face today - and I bring that to my own experience of raising three children who are now adults.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked as a nurse and then spent many years supporting young people with additional needs in further education, particularly those who are neurodivergent. These are things I feel passionate about and they've shaped the kind of counsellor I am.
I know how daunting it can be to make that first step, but I also know from my own experience of therapy how transformative it can be to feel truly listened to and understood.
If any of this resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you. Please call if you would like a free initial conversation to talk about how we might work together.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
