Psychodynamic Therapist (PG Adv Dip, MBACP)

About me

Making a decision to start counselling can be really daunting. I aim to provide a warm and empathic approach to support you on your therapeutic journey.

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space to explore any issues that are affecting your life. These can include general feelings of stress, anxiety and depression, as well as more specific issues such as bereavement, sexual trauma, relationship breakdowns and support with addiction. I provide therapy in person, online or by telephone.

Together we can to try to understand how unhelpful past behaviours may be causing difficulties for you in the present. This can include focusing on intrusive or unwelcome thoughts or considering patterns within your close relationships.

Using psychodynamic principles around the power of the unconscious mind and the impact of our early years on later life, I will work with you to help you on the path towards a deeper understanding of yourself and your feelings.

No matter what unhelpful messaging you may have received in the past, spending time on challenging mental health issues is time well spent, and I will be with you on your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
