About me

Hello, I'm Felicity, I offer a calm, compassionate and professional environment where I provide Integrative, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy informed counselling and psychotherapy.

I have supported a wide range of adults with mental health issues:

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and other anxieties
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Phobias
  • OCD
  • Loss
  • Bereavement

We will work collaboratively at a pace that is comfortable for you. It may be that you need a confidential space to be listened to and offload whilst exploring patterns of behaviour you wish to change. You may be interested in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy evidence-based proven techniques for positive outcomes to help you find solutions and strategies for the future. My role will be to give you empathetic, non-judgemental support to guide you through your therapeutic process.  Talking about your issues could be the beginning of improving your situation and taking control of your mental  health.

Working with Depression:

We would aim talk around the cause and the impact it is having on your life, work and relationships and possibly use CBT techniques to enable you to re-engage with these aspects of your life.

Working with Anxiety:

I believe that psychoeducation can have a huge impact in understanding where anxiety comes from, how it affects your behaviour and how you feel physically which can empower how you manage to reduce its impact on your life.

Working with loss and bereavement:

As humans, we struggle to talk about and manage grief whether it is for a bereavement or an unexpected change of life such as divorce, moving house, or changing job.  I will give the space to talk about what so many people find hard to listen to and we will work together using evidence-based techniques to process what is fundamentally a natural response to loss.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
