About me

Hey, I’m glad you found my profile.

I believe that there is a power in understanding yourself. Through my practice I have found that the better that people know themselves, and their story, the more meaningful they report life to be, and the easier it becomes to feel warmly towards themselves. Your relationship with yourself is the most important. Talking is cathartic, and being heard is transformative.

I provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is going on for you. I provide prompts for when you feel stuck, and space for when you want to think.

Many of the clients I work with come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stuck, or struggling with self-esteem, body image and their relationship with food or other vices. Alongside my private practice, I work with a charity supporting clients with complex relationships with food.

Unless otherwise requested, sessions take place in my cosy, quiet and private practice room, which is close to Norwich, accessible, has free parking, and unlimited tea and coffee on site. Sessions last 60 minutes. I usually work with clients on a weekly basis, either short-term or long-term, depending on your needs.

Fees are £55 per session, with discounts offered for block bookings (6 and 12 sessions). I offer a free 15-30 minute introductory call.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a first class degree in English Literature and hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework and receive regular clinical supervision. I have previously worked with Norfolk and Waveney MIND, and prior to counselling had various roles in the care, counselling and voluntary sector, where I gained extensive experience working in a person-centred way.

Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a counsellor with a charity supporting clients with complex relationships with food. I have a lot of experience working with emotional eating, body image, self-esteem and related difficulties.

I am also a licensed Understanding Your Eating practitioner.

My core training is in person-centred therapy, and I am committed to ongoing professional development through continued training and CPD.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
