BACP Counsellor | Bereavement & Baby Loss

About me

Are you struggling with grief after baby loss, pregnancy loss, anxiety, trauma, stress, or a major life change? You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to cope with what has happened.

I offer online counselling to adults across the UK, providing a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk at your own pace.

A significant area of my practice is bereavement counselling, including baby loss, pregnancy loss and perinatal grief. I also work as a perinatal practitioner supporting emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Alongside this, I support clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression and life transitions.

I offer a free 20-minute, no-obligation Zoom or telephone consultation to help us decide whether working together feels right for you.

I also offer the use of art therapeutically in online sessions, where appropriate, as a way of supporting emotional expression when words feel difficult.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and hold an MSc in Counselling and a BSc in Psychology.

I have experience working within Cruse Bereavement Support, NHS-linked services including primary care mental health counselling and prescribed medication support services, as well as private practice. I also work as a perinatal practitioner supporting emotional and psychological wellbeing during pregnancy and the postnatal period.

My specialist training includes bereavement counselling with Cruse, specialist miscarriage training, and the Infant Loss Foundation Certificate in pregnancy and infant loss support, alongside additional training in pregnancy and infant loss.

Alongside this, I support clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-worth, identity issues and relationship difficulties.

I have a particular interest in women’s health and life transitions, including pregnancy and post-pregnancy adjustment, as well as changes in physical appearance such as alopecia and the emotional impact this can have.

I also offer the use of art therapeutically in online sessions, where appropriate, as a way of supporting emotional expression when words feel difficult.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
