About me
I’m Euan and I am a person-centred trained counsellor. Thank you for considering me to accompany you on this journey, let me tell you a little about myself and how I work. Being person-centred, I am not here to take an expert role. You know yourself better than I ever will so I will follow your lead when it comes to exploring your current difficulties. My role isn’t to offer solutions or give you the answers, but rather to offer you a safe and encouraging space to find the answers for yourself. But that doesn’t mean you're alone, I will offer light guidance in the form of open questions; reflecting things back; and offering observations based on what is coming up for me. In addition, I believe that some of the most powerful work happens in the moment. So I will often ask questions around how you are feeling in the session. What it feels like to be discussing your concern; how it feels to be working with me; and how reactions within the counselling space may be reflected in your day-to-day life.
I have experience in offering long and short term counselling and have worked with a variety of different issues including trauma; low self-esteem; relationship difficulties; and grief and bereavement. If this sounds like a good way of working, feel free to get in touch. I offer a free 30 minute consultation to discuss your hopes and goals for counselling, and see if we are a good fit. Thereafter, I offer 50 minute sessions over zoom or phone call. I hope to be able to offer in-person sessions in the future, but at the moment, I will be fully online.
Small disclaimer, due to other work commitments I can’t offer the same day and time every week. However, if you are comfortable with a little bit of variety in when you have sessions, I am happy to work together to come up with a schedule that works for us both.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
