About me

Choosing a counsellor may feel overwhelming. A recommendation can make things feel a little easier.

"Working with Erin has been a transformative experience for me. She is always professional, empathetic, and supportive in providing a space where I feel heard and understood. Her insight and compassion have helped me open up emotionally in ways I couldn't before. I am super grateful — couldn't ask for a better therapist!"

So, if this all seems a bit overwhelming, I would encourage you to go to my website and book an introductory call for free so we can meet each other and have a talk about what you need at the moment.

In saying that, if you do read on, (there are so many profiles to consider) my hope is that through working together, counselling will enable you to explore your own thoughts and feelings, empowering you to understand yourself well enough to make the choices that you need to make in your life right now and in the future.

I understand that it can be a big step to try something new, so I would be honoured to offer you a safe space to talk about your life and what might be worrying you. Sometimes just having one person who can listen to you without judgement can help so much.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Bachelor of Health Science with Major in Vision Rehabilitation. I more recently completed a BACP approved Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

As an integrative counsellor, I am able to adapt my approach to meet your individual needs. With over 20 years of experience working with families, I am passionate about supporting you to find the most authentic version of yourself. I will support you to develop your self-awareness through a combination of person centred and psychodynamic therapeutic approaches. This means that I will follow your lead and that you will have full autonomy of what you bring to therapy. I may then guide you to consider how your past experiences impact your life now.

I understand how challenging it can be to put your own needs first at times. Counselling is one of many ways that you can start to refill your own cup so that you have something left to give to the relationships that are most important to you.
