About me

Could counselling help? This is a common question when life struggles become too much or overwhelming. Counselling can offer a place to talk, be listened to, heard and understood when life is confusing, overwhelming or when you feel stuck. I aim to provide a space where you can talk about things that may be hard to talk about, to express feelings that feel difficult to share elsewhere in your life, and to sit for a while in a safe space of calm acceptance.

I work with adults and teenagers. I have experience in the field of education both as a student and in my past professional role at the Open University, and enjoy working with students of all ages. I also have an interest in how neurodivergence can affect studying and work-life balance, and have experience of working with neurodivergent individuals.

I will walk alongside you as you discover your own unique strengths and qualities, and help you to find your path through what currently feels difficult. I place great value on building rapport so that the therapeutic relationship can be a source of support, emphasising encouragement throughout our work together.

I am a qualified counsellor trained in Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I take a client-centred approach, which means that I will help you to explore whatever feels most important to you, while gently challenging to help you uncover any blocks or difficulties preventing you from living a more fulfilled life.

I would love to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy (Dip Adlerian Couns IIP)

I am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I am registered with the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).

During my training, I worked at Centre 33 in Ely, Cambridgeshire, and also at Cogwheel Counselling in Cambridge, where I continue to work as a volunteer counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
