About me
Finding a therapist can be a tricky, confusing process so I hope the information I've included here helps to answer any questions you might have so you can move forwards with confidence.
I'm a Clinical Psychologist which means I am trained to a Doctorate level to support people with a range of different difficulties using a range of different evidence-based models of therapy. My process is always to understand a person's difficulties and how they have come to find themselves in their current position, before tailoring the therapeutic support I am offering fully to their personal needs and aims.
People come to therapy for a huge range of different reasons. It may be that they are struggling with emotional distress which is becoming overwhelming, there may be specific circumstances around relationships, family, parenting or work that feel troubling and 'stuck'. Sometimes people come to therapy without a specific issue but a desire to explore areas such as childhood, relationships, identity, confidence or future aspirations.
My aim is to work collaboratively with people to support positive change within a relationship which is non-judgmental, safe and contained.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked within psychological services with a range of different client groups since 2008. I have worked mostly with adults but also adolescents and children across NHS and Local Authority settings as well as within private practice.
The models of therapies I use regularly are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-focused therapy as well as work on familial relationships using an attachment focused therapy called DDP.
I am trained as Clinical Psychologist to doctorate level and have undertaken additional training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
