About me

Sometimes, life can feel overwhelming, and reaching out for support can take a great deal of courage. If you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or struggling to cope, counselling can provide a safe and supportive space to discuss your concerns at your own pace.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I tailor each session to suit you as an individual. I understand that everyone’s journey is different, and I work with what you bring, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. My aim is to help you explore your worries, make sense of what’s going on, and find ways forward that feel right for you.

I work with adults aged 16 and over. Clients come to me for many reasons, including feeling anxious or low, coping with past or recent trauma, relationship difficulties, and work-related stress.

I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you are accepted as you are. I work in a way that respects you as the expert in your own life, and I believe that, with the right support, you can find your own answers and build greater understanding, confidence, and resilience.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and qualified in 2016. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their ethical framework.

I have experience working in a range of settings, including Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), a domestic violence charity, and private practice. This has given me a broad understanding of the challenges people face at different stages of life.

My main areas of experience include trauma, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, work-related stress, relationship worries, and bereavement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
