About me

I am a fully qualified Psychodynamic therapist. I work with clients who have experienced issues or trauma within their childhood and together we look at how that affects their behaviours or relationships with others or themselves today.

I offer face-to-face counselling in St.Helens, therapy video calls via Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp video, or phone. I do not dictate a limit on sessions and offer short or long-term therapy, although we will complete regular reviews together to ensure you are getting what you need from our sessions.

For over a year I have worked in a residential setting centred around addiction and mental health allowing me to develop and integrate person-centred and CBT approaches offering tools that benefit clients.

I understand that reaching out and accessing therapy can be difficult and I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, therefore I offer a safe, warm, empathetic, non-judgmental space for you to explore whatever issues are impacting your life. I will always allow clients to go at their own pace, taking into account their individual needs and wants, appreciating that every client is unique and their therapeutic journey should be too.

I aim to help you to feel empowered, valued, and heard to help you to improve your well-being and quality of life. As a counsellor, I am genuine, understanding, and passionate about helping others to gain understanding and power in themselves and I feel privileged to be a part of an individual’s journey and watch them reach their full potential and reconnect with their true authentic self.

I do offer a free 30-minute consultation call, this can help us to determine if we will work well together, and if my modality of therapy is right for your needs. To gain the most out of therapy I find this important. On this call, I will answer any questions you have and if you find at the end of the call you feel comfortable we can book your first session. I pride myself in honesty and integrity therefore if I feel you would be better suited to a therapy that I am not able to offer I would discuss that with you and help to direct you to the most appropriate pathway for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
