About me
I offer accepting, warm, and inclusive counselling in person in Soho, Kings Cross, and online/ phone.
On a good day, it can feel like being an adult is an extreme juggling act. We may just about be holding it together. And if an unexpected upheaval comes along, it can be the final straw. One or more problem, such as illness, loss, menopause, or work can topple the fine balance and leave us feeling stressed, anxious, low or spiralling. I support people through these moments. I offer you a space to be heard, understood, feel warmth, and find ways through.
I offer a space that is entirely about and for you. Time to process what is happening and explore new ways to cope. Space to cry, shout, swear, and feel whatever you’re feeling. Counselling can help you to find the path forwards and gain a deeper acceptance and understanding of yourself.
For couples/ relationship: Counselling can help when relationships become difficult, arguments mount, there has been a betrayal, or people feel misunderstood or under appreciated. I work with couples and people in relationships, such as family, business, or romantic/ sexual relationships with more than two partners. I will help you to discuss problems and find new ways to communicate, understand, and move forwards together. I offer a warm and accepting space where all people feel valued, listened to, and appreciated. I am inclusive of all relationship types and gender identities.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Person-Centred Pluralistic Counsellor. This means you can primarily expect me to be warm, understanding, and accepting. On top of talking through what is going on, I work with different methods and techniques to support individuals and people in relationships, depending on their preferences. I am also a coach and often work with Therapeutic Coaching, which combines the support and empathy you get from counselling, with action and goal-oriented progress. I tailor the support offered based on each client's preferences and needs.
I recognise and welcome all identities, relationship types, gender expressions, values and beliefs. I am committed to anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, accessible and neuro-inclusive practice.
I am a BACP Registered member and completed a BSc in Person-Centred Pluralistic Counselling at Metanoia Institute. I hold a Certificate in Couple and Relationship Therapy accredited by COSRT at Level 5. Alongside my private practice, I volunteer with The Brain Tumour Charity, working with people impacted by illness and loss. I am also a qualified coach accredited at Senior Practitioner level by EMCC and have worked with many leaders dealing with workplace changes and challenges.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
