About me

Whether you have specific goals in mind or aren’t sure what you need; experiencing difficult emotions, challenging circumstances, or feeling numb, recognising you need support and beginning the search for a counsellor is a huge first step.

Hi and welcome! I’m Emily, a BACP-registered counsellor. I support my clients through challenges with anxiety, depression, attachment concerns, relationship difficulties, loss, low self-esteem, and neurodiversity.

I know reaching out for support can feel daunting, so I create a welcoming, safe space for you to be heard, accepted, and understood. Whether you’re dealing with something specific or just need room to reflect and explore, I’ll walk alongside you with empathy and without judgement.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, and existential techniques. This flexibility means we can shape sessions around what feels most comfortable and effective for you. My sessions are always guided by empathy, confidentiality, and trust. Together we can explore challenges, uncover your resilience, and navigate difficult moments - moving towards healing, growth, and peace.

If you’re ready to take the next step simply drop me a message or email and we can organise an initial intro call and schedule your first session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a BACP-registered counsellor with a BSc (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and a Diploma in Counselling and Psychology spanning 4 years of study full time and a further 4.5 years practice.

In my private practice, I primarily work with young people, adolescents and adults across a range of mental health concerns. I am also a Child and Young Person Lead Therapist supporting CYP’s and parents across the UK and ROI within a high demand EAP service. My previous experience includes schools, charities, private sector work where I’ve offered both one-to-one and group counselling. I have also worked closely with families and wider support teams to ensure my clients remain safe and heard.

I continue to develop professionally with ongoing training in attachment, trauma-informed care, and neurodivergent-affirming therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
