About me

Hi, I’m Emily - a person-centred therapist and founder of Your Path Therapy & Well-Being. I offer face-to-face, online, and telephone therapy for adults and young people, with a special focus on those navigating late diagnosis (ADHD/autism), masking, burnout, anxiety, depression, bereavement and identity work.

Sessions are calm, grounded, and person-centred no fixing, no pressure - just space to feel heard.

I work in a peaceful garden room in Manningtree, Essex and offer remote sessions across the UK. My practice is neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and trauma-informed.

You don’t need a diagnosis to come to therapy. Just space to be you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications

  • BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy
  • Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Level 3 First Aid Trained

Additional Training / CPD

  • Working with Autism & ADHD in Therapy
  • Grief & Bereavement Support in the Therapeutic Space
  • Creative Techniques for the Therapy Room
  • Generational Trauma & Family Systems
  • Supporting Neurodivergent Clients in Education & Therapy
  • Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults
  • Cultural Competency and Inclusive Practice

For over five years, I’ve worked in a mainstream primary school as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Keyworker, supporting children with:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • ODD
  • Sensory processing challenges
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Attachment trauma and relational needs

My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and compassionate. I work closely with families and professionals, helping children feel understood, not just managed. This work deeply informs how I show up in the therapy room, especially when supporting young people, neurodivergent adults, and those who have been misunderstood in school or life.

Experience Supporting Grief and Loss

I support clients navigating many forms of grief: bereavement, relationship endings, lost childhoods, or the grief that can come with diagnosis and identity.

Whether your loss is fresh, unspoken, complicated or years old- I offer a space to gently sit with it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
