About me

Hi, I'm Elsie - an Integrative Psychotherapist in Cardiff.

Are you questioning your career, feeling stuck in relationships, or carrying that nagging feeling something's missing? Perhaps you're navigating a major life transition, processing a breakup, or trying to find yourself again after years of putting everyone else first?

Sometimes my clients and I might call this our very own existential crisis, but really it's just the messy reality of trying to figure out who you are and what you actually want.

If this is sounding familiar, I want you to know it doesn't have to stay this way and you don't have to go through this alone.

Here's what we might work on together:

  • Understanding why you keep repeating the same patterns
  • Trusting your own decisions without second-guessing everything
  • Attracting healthier relationships
  • Finding clarity about your career path when you feel completely lost
  • Feeling connected to others without losing yourself in the process
  • Making decisions aligned with your values, not everyone else's expectations
  • Learning to stop letting anxiety control your life

So that you can finish therapy feeling lighter, clearer, and equipped to face life's challenges - even when it's messy.

My approach

My approach blends existential, person-centred, and psychodynamic therapy - we'll explore what really matters to you while understanding how your past shapes your present. I also use CBT and ACT for anxiety and overthinking, always tailored to you.

A bit more about me

I'm not your stereotypical TV therapist (though I do own many cardigans). I've lived through my own mid-20s existential crisis, and clients tell me our work feels human and friendly, not clinical. Laughter, tears, swearing...I'm here for it all.

When I'm not doing therapy, I'm spending a fortune on coffee and cake, walking my dog Dilly and loving trash TV...though I also enjoy a true crime documentary.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
