About me

I offer a relatively rare perspective, as a young man, in my therapy work with clients. I'm the same generation as a lot of my clients, and bring experience of that to my work.

Clients seem to benefit from my approach being integrative, which means incorporating different interventions and approaches when they feel appropriate, to help achieve the aims and goals you have from therapy. There is a mixture of working therapeutically to resolve issues, alongside a gentle space to talk about your week.

Sessions with me will provide you with somewhere you can talk openly. Somewhere you can come each week to say what you’ve been wanting to say, and feel what you’ve been wanting to feel.

All of our lives are complex, and all of them have challenges. However, we don’t always have a space to process these challenges. I will be there alongside you, not judging what you bring, and not telling you what to do. We can find, together, what changes and resolutions might help.

With resolutions in mind, I am trained to integrate therapy with coaching, and offer both therapy sessions and coaching sessions.

Nothing is too much to share in our therapy, and I welcome working with all clients, coming with whatever falls on the huge spectrum of experience we have in our lives.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree in Psychology, and a Post-graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching.

I work in private practice, and also for a local charity providing therapy, and have volunteered in the past for The Samaritans.

I have achieved Accreditation with the BACP.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
