About me

Hello, I’m Ellie. I offer one-to-one online therapy for adults aged 18 and over, creating a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. I know it’s not always easy to take the first step towards reaching out for help, and I want to assure you that therapy is a space just for you—free from judgment, full of care, and centred on what matters most to you.

I use a psychodynamic approach to help you explore the patterns and experiences, past and present, that may be shaping your life today. Together, we’ll gently bring these into awareness so you can move forward with more clarity, self-understanding, and purpose. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about yourself, I’m here to help you navigate the path ahead, one step at a time.

Our work together is collaborative, and we’ll decide together what feels most helpful for you, whether that’s short-term support or a longer-term journey. If you’d like to learn more about how I work or explore what therapy with me might look like, I’d love to invite you to visit my website.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey as a therapist has taken me through many settings over the past decade, allowing me to work with people facing a wide variety of issues.

After completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and working for several years in the mental health field, I moved to Scotland where I completed the MCouns (Master of Counselling) (Interpersonal Dialogue) at the University of Edinburgh.

Upon graduating I worked as a volunteer counsellor at a charity in Edinburgh helping people in recovery from addiction as they navigated the challenges of rebuilding their lives. Later, as a Wellbeing Advisor and Mental Health Mentor at a local university, I supported students through the pressures of higher education and personal challenges. Most recently, I worked as an outreach counsellor with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse across Fife, offering a safe space to process deep-seated pain and complex trauma.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, substance misuse, sexual assault, loss and bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and a range of other complex personal issues. I’ve found that everyone brings their own unique story, and each individual’s courage in sharing their journey is an honour to witness.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore whether we’d be a good fit to work together. It’s a space where you can safely share what’s brought you to therapy and ask any questions about the process. Together we’ll discuss your needs, goals, and expectations, and I’ll explain how I work to help you determine if this feels right for you.

There’s no obligation to commit beyond this session. However, if we decide to proceed, we’ll also consider whether short-term or longer-term therapy aligns with your preferences and needs.

For our initial one hour session I charge a reduced fee of £35. If you choose to continue with therapy with me after that my current fee is £55 per sixty-minute session. This is subject to change but you will always be given adequate notice beforehand.

Further information

If you’re reading this, you might be feeling like you need someone to talk to—a space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported. That’s what I aim to offer in therapy: a warm, compassionate environment where you can share what’s on your mind, make sense of your feelings, and begin to take steps toward the changes you’re seeking, however small or big they may feel.

Over the years, I’ve worked with clients navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, addiction, loss, and relationship difficulties. Whatever has brought you to therapy, you don’t have to face it alone. I approach each person’s journey with care and respect, meeting you where you are and going at a pace that feels right for you.

Therapy is an opportunity to connect with yourself and gain greater clarity and understanding. Together, we’ll explore your experiences and discover ways to move toward a life that feels more authentic, fulfilling, and manageable.
