About me
Life can be challenging and when you're in that place it can feel overwhelming and perhaps even scary. Reaching out for help may seem daunting, but it doesn't need to be. I am a person centered counsellor, here to accompany you on your path to mental wellness and self improvement. I will work with you to help you achieve a deeper understanding of your issues. Whether you're struggling with relationships, family bonds, past trauma or suffering with stress, depression or anxiety, however that looks for you - whatever you bring into the space, it'll be free from judgement and met with genuineness and compassion.
I work with adults and young people who all bring different aspects of themselves and their lives into therapy. Working with a diverse range of clients means that no counselling experience is the same - I can tailor my methods to suit your needs and I will provide you with therapeutic tools and techniques to help you build confidence and make positive changes in your life.
Experience & Areas of Practice
I have previously worked with Manchester Women's Aid - for people who have experienced domestic and intimate partner violence. I also have experience of working with bereavement, grief, loss, and transition. Trauma, anxiety, low moods and depression, low self esteem, disordered eating and many other experiences. Clients may bring a number of different concerns during their time in therapy and we will work out the best way to navigate these together.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes. I can offer time limited or long-term counselling, depending on your needs. I’m a fully qualified psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I follow their code of conduct and attend supervision as well as receive regular ongoing training. My practice is inclusive and welcoming to all.
Finding the right counsellor for you is vital to ensure you have the best, most effective experience. I offer a 15-20 minute, free of charge consultation call, where we will have the opportunity to meet each other and briefly discuss your expectations and desired outcomes. To arrange this you can e-mail me ellirosecounselling@gmail.com

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
