About me

Hello and welcome to my profile. If you need someone to talk to, I am here to listen. I am a qualified humanistic and integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. I provide supportive, non-judgmental therapy, in a safe and confidential space. I am a warm and empathetic listener and my aim is to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. You are unique, therefore I tailor my therapeutic approach to you individually.

You may be feeling depressed, anxious or stressed, or that something is not quite right in your life. You may have feelings, thoughts and emotions that you feel unable to share with those around you. You may feel at sea in the noise of life and have lost sight of what makes you, ‘you’. It can feel overwhelming because you cannot hear your own thoughts. You will have the time and space in therapy to hear yourself think and to process your experiences and feelings.

I work with adults at any stage of their life and with a broad range of issues.

I worked as a solicitor for over 20 years, therefore I have a deep understanding of being in a stressful environment - whether that be in your job or at home.

Within the safety of the therapy room, you are free to bring all aspects of yourself and to reach a deeper understanding of who you are.

If you would like to arrange an initial appointment, please contact me by phone or email, whichever you feel comfortable with.

This first appointment is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about therapy and for me to carry out an assessment of your needs. We can then both decide whether we would like to work together.

I work from a lovely, calm and quiet therapy room in Barrow upon Soar on Friday and Saturday mornings and afternoons. Each session lasts for 50 minutes.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I have a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I trained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham.
  • I am a registered member of the BACP.
  • I have a law degree and associated solicitor's qualifications.
  • I also work for a charity as a psychotherapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
