About me

I'm Elizabeth and I am a qualified Psychodynamic and Person Centred Psychotherapist.

My training and practice is most closely aligned with person centred theory.  For me this means offering all of my clients a warm, genuine and accepting environment to explore anything and everything that is important to them. I believe that offering this type of environment allows every client the potential to explore themselves and their concerns in safe and welcoming space.

In addition to this, the Psychodynamic aspects of my training allow me to work with my clients to look into any underlying factors impacting challenging feelings and behaviours. We can do this together through the exploration of early life experiences.

I passionately believe in the healing power of self-exploration through the use of a good, meaningful and safe therapeutic relationship and this is what I aim to offer all of my clients

What to expect from your first session

During our first session together we will talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping for going forward. Our therapy sessions are always at your own pace and follow a path of your choosing with as little or as much input from me as you want or need. My ultimate goal, from first to last session, is always to make sure you feel safe, comfortable and able to freely let go of whatever emotional weight you are carrying.

If you feel that anything you have read here sounds right for you I would be happy to hear from you.

Get in touch and we can arrange a free 15-minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
