About me
About me
Hi, I’m Elise, a therapist based in Southwest and Southeast London, offering both in-person counselling and online therapy across the UK. I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, burnout, and the impact of difficult or overwhelming life experiences.
I have a particular interest in grief and loss, including bereavement such as baby loss, multiple losses, or the death of a parent, partner, or loved one, as well as more complex experiences like traumatic or violent loss.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You may feel unsure where to begin or wonder if you will be understood. You do not need to have the right words or a clear plan. My role is to meet you where you are and help you make sense of what you are going through.
I offer a space that is warm, grounded, and free from judgement. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, whether you come with something specific in mind or are still figuring things out.
I also recognise that loss is not always about bereavement. It can include the end of a relationship, changes in identity, or other significant life transitions. Alongside this, I have a particular interest in supporting late teens and young adults, while working with clients of all ages 18 and over.
With over five years of experience in neurodivergence, I adapt therapy to suit you, especially if traditional talking therapy has not felt accessible or effective
How I Work
I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to support you in a way that feels meaningful and effective. At the core of my work is a person-centred approach, offering a warm, grounded, and non-judgemental space where you can feel genuinely heard and understood.
Alongside this, I bring in psychodynamic thinking to explore how past experiences may be shaping your present. Where helpful, I may incorporate approaches such as inner child work, mindfulness, Gestalt techniques, creative methods, and somatic awareness to support a deeper connection between mind and body.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. We will work together to understand what is going on for you, moving at a pace that feels right, and adapting the approach as your needs evolve.
If you are considering therapy and would like to see if we are a good fit, you are welcome to get in touch.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, accredited by the BACP. I have additional training in grief and bereavement, with a focus on traumatic bereavement and violent loss, and experience working in play therapy with young children, trained by Place2Be.
I also have a strong background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Neurodivergence, with training across multiple areas. This enables me to tailor therapy to neurodivergent clients, understanding that many people find talking therapy challenging, and adapt my approach to meet your needs.
In addition, I have experience in the mental health field in the community, delivering talks on mental health and publishing written pieces to raise awareness and understanding.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework. I hold enhanced DBS clearance and have full professional liability and public insurance.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
