About me

I specialise in working with individuals and couples experiencing infertility, miscarriage, baby loss and termination for medical reasons (TMFR). My focus is to support anyone navigating the pain and complexity these bring. Other issues I work with include postnatal depression, experiences in NICU, birth trauma and the experience of foetal or infant diagnosis or suspected diagnosis. I also have a strong interest in women’s health in general and the menopause especially.

With professional training, personal experience, and empathy, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your emotions and feel understood. Clients frequently comment on my warm and nurturing presence and my ability to really understand what they are going through. I believe a lot of problems can make you feel isolated and having someone who truly listens can be the key to helping you feel a little lighter at heart.

How I Can Help:

Miscarriage, infertility and postnatal depression can feel isolating, leaving you unsure of where to turn. The menopause can be a time of tremendous emotional and physical change. Many of my clients share how difficult it is to talk about these experiences with family or friends, fearing discomfort or misunderstanding. That’s where I come in—I listen without judgment to help you navigate the complex emotions that accompany your journey. By offering you a confidential, safe space I hope you will feel able to work through whatever is troubling you.

Why Choose Me?

Alongside my specialist training in miscarriage, and infertility, I bring my lived experience of birth trauma, foetal suspected diagnosis and NICU to the counselling room. My wealth of experience working with families over the past decade has also given me a real insight into the challenges and pressures women, in particular, feel on a day to day basis.

Practice description

I work in a person centred way. In essence, to me this means that I offer a therapeutic style that feels simpler, warmer and more optimistic than that offered by behavioural or psychodynamic approaches such as CBT. My aim is to create a space for individuals to feel encouraged to focus on their current subjective understanding of whatever is troubling them rather than on anyone else’s interpretation of the situation. At the heart of my practice lies the conviction that the only expert on your circumstances is you.

Together we will build a space comfortable enough for you to discover and mould new aspects of self, face those that have remained well hidden and begin to love those that are difficult or hard to carry.

My first session

Taking the first step in reaching out can feel daunting, but I’m here to make it easier. I offer a free introductory call to help you decide if we’re a good fit. This is your space, because finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is really important.

Sessions: Online (via Google Meet) or by phone, offering flexibility and accessibility. In person in a central Norwich location

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
