About me
As long as I remember I have held a deep interest in human relationships and their ways of being. Once my youngest child started school I began my formal training in counselling and psychotherapy And have since volunteered at the Terence Higgins Trust, working with gender and sexually diverse clients, and this remains at the core of my work today. I took it upon myself to gain further knowledge in counselling gender and sexually diverse clients with Pink therapy in London with whom I am a clinical associate.
I have been privileged to volunteer as a staff and student and student counsellor at the University of Aberdeen and have also worked with adults and youths at Aberdeen Counselling and Information Service (ACIS) . As a volunteer at Cairns Counselling Service I saw both individuals and couples and was employed byMental Health Aberdeen (MHA) from 2014 to 2017 seeing both individuals and couples.
I also have a certificate in counselling supervision from the University of Strathclyde and I am one of the supervisors for the students on the person centred diploma course at the University of Aberdeen.
I now run a busy private practice from my home in central Aberdeen where I see individuals, small groups and couples
