About me
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about me and my approach to counselling.
I am a Person-Centred therapist, supervisor and trainer with over 15 years’ experience. I work from my home in central Aberdeen, Scotland, where I see individual clients, couples, people in polyamorous relationships, and supervisees. I help clients explore their unique experiences of anxiety and/or feeling overwhelmed, low mood and depression and communication and boundary setting difficulties.
For as long as I can remember, I have held a deep curiosity about human behaviour, sexuality, and relationships. I began my formal training in Person-Centred Counselling in 2009, and this modality underpins my therapeutic practice.
Since qualifying, I have undertaken extensive further training with Pink Therapy to work with gender- and sexually-diverse (GSRD / LGBTQ+) clients. I also hold a diploma in working with compulsive sexual behaviours from the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (CICS), which includes working safely and ethically with trauma. I recently completed an extensive CPD - Opening Up - working with clients in open and polyamorous relationships.
I am BDSM and kink aware and work affirmatively with the queer community and sex workers. I help couples who are exploring opening up their relationship and support people in multiple-partner relationships who wish to move away from more traditional relationship structures and cultural conditioning. My aim is to help people embody new possibilities in life and love.
I am currently self-employed as a counsellor and supervisor in private practice, based at my home in central Aberdeen. Please contact me to arrange a free introductory session via Zoom, lasting approximately 20–30 minutes.
In my early counselling days, I volunteered as a staff and student counsellor at the University of Aberdeen, with the Terrence Higgins Trust, ACIS Adult and Youth Services, and Cairns Counselling Service. I previously worked as a staff counsellor with MHA (Mental Health Aberdeen), seeing both individuals and couples. More recently, I have tutored on the Counselling Skills programme at the University of Aberdeen and delivered training on sexuality for the postgraduate diploma course.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
