About me

Hello, I’m Ellie and welcome to my profile.

I am a BACP Accredited integrative counsellor working with children, young people, and adults across educational settings and my private practice Mindful Direction. I offer counselling in-person, online, and over the phone, creating a flexible and supportive space that works for you. Previously, I worked within the NHS- children and young people’s counselling service.

At times, It can feel incredibly difficult to share our innermost thoughts and feelings. Sometimes it may not feel possible to open up to those closest to us through fear of judgement, misunderstanding, or feeling like a burden. This is where counselling can help — you do not have to face anxiety, trauma, depression, or emotional distress alone.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can explore what is going on for you, together and at your own pace. I believe that no one knows you better than you know yourself. I will not tell you how you “should” live your life or claim to have all the answers. Instead, I aim to work alongside you with empathy, honesty, and respect, helping you reconnect with your own strengths and ability to make positive changes that support your wellbeing.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw upon a variety of therapeutic approaches to best support you as an individual, because I do not believe that “one size fits all.” While I may incorporate approaches such as CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Transactional Analysis, the foundation of my work is person-centred. I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful and lasting change.

If you would like to find out more, I offer a free, no-obligation introductory call.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but you do not have to do it alone.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
