About me

Hello, I'm Ellie and welcome to my profile.  I’m a integrative counsellor, currently working with children and young people for the NHS, as well as running my private practice, Mindful direction, welcoming client's of all ages whether that be in-person, online or over the phone.

It can be a real struggle sharing our inner most thoughts and feelings, it may not always be possible to share these thoughts with the people we're closest to through fear of judgment or misunderstanding. This is where counselling comes into its own, you don't have to battle with anxiety, trauma, depression, or anything that's causing you distress alone.

I can offer you a safe, confidential and non- judgemental space to explore what's going on for you. We will work together, at your pace, exploring what maybe causing you difficulty. I believe that no one knows you, better than you know yourself. I won't be claiming I have the answers to your problems or how you 'should' live your life, I truly believe you are the expert on yourself and I value and respect you, for who you are. Together I believe we can work on unlocking the power within you to make positive changes, choices and overall help enhance your wellbeing.

As an integrative counsellor I use a variety of approaches to best suit you, as an individual. I do not believe that ‘one size, fits all!’.  Whilst I may use a range of styles, for example, CBT, Psychodynamic, TA, at the core of my practice I am Person centred, and truly believe that the key to successful therapy is our relationship.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
