About me

Firstly, I would like to offer a sincere well done for taking the first step in seeking out a therapist, I understand how difficult that in itself can be.

Based in a comfortable setting in East Ayrshire, I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working with clients both face to face and online, whatever works best for you.

Empathic, non-judgmental and friendly, I will put you at the heart of everything we do, with our sessions very much being led by you. We will work together to come up with a plan which will be based on your goals and the challenges you are facing which may need a bit of support to navigate through. This will be your time where we will explore difficult thoughts, beliefs and behaviors and really work to help you identify and understand your emotions.

Based on sound counselling principles, I will adapt and tailor a plan with you at the core. As an integrative therapist I will use approaches such as Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.

Working as an HR professional for around 30 years has given me a genuine interest in working with people from all walks of life whilst supporting their mental health and wellbeing. My work over the years has given me a real insight into how unique we are as individuals and the power we hold to heal from within. In addition to this, I have been very fortunate to volunteer in a Suicide Crisis Centre one evening a week for the last year or so, supporting people with suicidal thoughts, have survived a suicide attempt or a relative of someone who has died by suicide, leaving me both inspired and humbled.
