About me
I am a Systemic Family Psychotherapist and I help individuals (adults, young people and children), couples, parents, and families navigate difficulties such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, life transitions, changes in identity, relationship and communication difficulties.
In my work with families, couples and individuals I can help if you or a loved one are experiencing more conflict or finding communication difficult. I can support families when a child or teenager is struggling with school attendance, anxiety, low mood, or behaviour that’s hard to manage. I can support couples and co-parents with navigating challenges such as separation, blended family life, or ongoing conflict.
My approach is grounded in systemic family therapy, which means I look at what’s happening in your relationships and the patterns between people, not just what’s happening within one person. I understand that the word family can mean different things to different people. It can also be helpful to explore how the wider context or how difference might be influencing the challenges you are facing. Together, we can make sense of what’s happening in a safe and non-judgemental setting, help you to understand different perspectives, and to build on your strengths.
Many people experiencing depression find that it’s closely linked to their relationships, family dynamics, or life transitions. Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for depression which I am trained in is an evidence-based, structured, time-limited therapy that can help with this. Additionally, I can incorporate creative approaches such as sand tray which can help when it is difficult to put words to experiences or feelings.
I understand that you may have tried really hard to make changes and when you find yourself stuck in unhelpful patterns of behaviour, communication, or relationships it can be frustrating. I will work alongside you in a collaborative way to help support you with the changes you would like to make. I welcome enquiries and I am happy to discuss your enquiry with you further to help you think about what you are looking for from therapy and to see if I am the right fit for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Systemic Family and Couple Psychotherapist. I originally trained as a Counsellor before completing a 4-year family therapy training. Additionally, I am trained in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for depression which is an evidence-based, structured, time-limited therapy that focuses on how mood and relationships affect each other, alongside practical ways to create change.
I have experience working in the NHS in adult mental health services, including community mental health teams and primary care. I have also worked across schools, and the third sector. I have worked with children, young people, adults, and older adults, which gives me a broad understanding of how difficulties evolve across the lifespan.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
