MBACP Integrative Counsellor

About me

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving us feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. As an integrative counsellor, I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your needs, at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach draws on a person-centred, psychodynamic, and existential model, allowing me to tailor our work to your unique experiences and needs. I believe that understanding both your present challenges and the deeper influences that have shaped you can lead to greater self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful change. At the heart of my practice is the belief that being genuinely heard and understood can be a powerful catalyst for growth.

What makes my practice unique is the setting in which I work. Face-to-face sessions take place on a peaceful working farm, offering a calm and restorative environment away from the pressures and distractions of everyday life. Surrounded by open countryside and nature, clients can find it easier to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

I have a particular interest in walk-and-talk therapy, with sessions taking place along farm tracks, fields and woodland. Combining movement, fresh air, and therapeutic conversation can help create a sense of ease, grounding, and perspective. For those who prefer a more traditional approach, I also offer seated face-to-face sessions on the farm, as well as online counselling.

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I aim to provide a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe to be yourself and explore what matters most to you.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and regular supervision.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications

  • CPCAB Level 2 Award in Introduction to Counselling
  • CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

My counselling practice is informed by a diverse professional background that has given me experience supporting people through a wide range of life challenges. I have worked within a secondary school SEN/SEMH department, supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, and have also worked as a counsellor in at a local charity.

Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked in agriculture and the emergency services, roles that fostered resilience, empathy, and an understanding of the pressures that people can face in both their personal and professional lives.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Finding the right counsellor can feel daunting. With so many different approaches and therapists to choose from, it's important to find someone you feel comfortable with and able to trust.

I understand that starting therapy is a significant step, which is why I offer a free 10–15 minute telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling, explore how I may be able to support you, and, importantly, for you to decide whether I feel like the right fit for you.

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling, and finding the right counsellor is an important part of that process.

Please be aware that currently I work with clients that are age 18 or over
