About me
I work with a person centred approach offering you a safe space in Chester or online, where together we can explore your needs, concerns and feelings for you to move forward in a way you are comfortable with. We can learn new ways to think about your experiences and different strategies to deal with them.
People attend counselling for many different reasons. As your counsellor I will support you whilst you are trying to overcome a distressing event, or you may be feeling stuck in life. It may be you aren’t even sure what it is, but you know that you are unhappy with your situation and would like to feel better.
Here are some example you may like me to help you with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Health issue/s (such as menopausal symptoms)
- Relationship breakdown
- Communication issues
- Panic attacks
- Bereavement and loss
- Guilt and shame
- Low self-esteem
- ADHD
- Psychosomatic disorders (which affect both your mental health and physical health)
- Feelings of isolation
- Phobias (such as public speaking, fear of flying)
- Difficulty with childhood trauma
- Work related stress or stress at home
I am based in Chester and also offer online sessions across the UK. I offer a free 15 minute consultation for you to explore if I am the right counsellor for you. Please get in touch here or via my web site www.mindflowcounsellingandtherapy.co.uk
Training, qualifications & experience
I am qualified with an MA in Clinical Counselling and I am a registered member of the BACP.
Over the years I have had a varied career including working in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and aerobics instructor after completing a BSc in Sports Science. I've trained as a Dietitian; studying a BSc in Dietetics and Nutrition. I'm also qualified as a Performance Coach, Meditation Practitioner, and Advice and Guidance Practitioner and I am passionate about health and well-being.
I have many years of experience of working within the construction industry, gaining a good understanding of the challenges faced and the impact this has on mental health within the industry. I've also worked in the voluntary sector, as a mental health practitioner.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
