At this uncertain time, I'm offering new and existing clients online therapy via Skype or Zoom - or telephone counselling. For new clients, I also offer a free 15- minute trial via Zoom or Skype to know what to expect. Although in-person sessions are sometimes preferred, you might be surprised how quickly and easily you adapt and can feel comfortable with this way of communicating and receiving therapy - and how effective it can be. Research shows there is no difference in the outcome of in-person versus online therapy. Support in these challenging times is needed so please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
I'm Denise, an Accredited, UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, Advanced Hypno-Psychotherapist and qualified EMDR therapist, offering supportive, non-judgemental and compassionate psychotherapy, counselling and effective hypnotherapy since 1994. Working integratively, I'll use a range of techniques and therapy approaches tailored to your particular needs to help you make the changes you desire - options include Psychodynamic, CBT, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing), Gestalt Psychotherapy, Body-orientated approaches, Inner Child Work, Somatic Trauma Therapy, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis and Affect-Centred Therapy.
My, initial, specialist training as a hypno-psychotherapist also enables me to gently, but effectively, use hypnosis and hypnotherapy alongside counselling/psychotherapy if you wish to make use of this intervention as part of your therapy - to help facilitate and ease the process of positive change. As many issues have a subconscious or ‘unconscious’ component, working with this aspect with hypnotherapy can often enable a subtle, yet powerful, change where we may feel conflicted, blocked or overwhelmed by the problem we are facing. (If you are interested in Hypno-Psychotherapy rather than Integrative Psychotherapy, please see my entry on the Hypnotherapy Directory (link below), visit www.denisemarleyn.co.uk or call or email me to discuss your needs).
In addition to my expertise as an Advanced hypno-psychotherapist/hypnotherapist, my further training and experience in psychotherapy, gained over 25 years, enables me to also offer an empathetic and non-judgemental space and therapeutic ‘relationship’ where you can feel the necessary support and safety to have the time to be able to talk about, and resolve, difficult or distressing feelings or experiences which may be affecting your quality of life, well-being or relationships. I also work with personal development.
