Psychodynamic Counsellor MBACP

About me

Hello and welcome. I am a psychodynamically trained counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), offering warmth, empathy and compassion, and helping my clients with various issues including anxiety, depression, loneliness and bereavement as well as fears arising from the recent pandemic.

We all struggle at different times in our lives and sometimes things can feel overwhelming or difficult. Often we are so caught up in our daily lives that we rarely take the time to reach out to others about our worries and concerns. I believe therapy is the key to helping you unravel what is troubling you.

I offer psychodynamic therapy which looks into how the past may influence your current patterns of behaviour. I will provide a space for you to talk through your feelings without fear of judgement and help you understand yourself better.

For more information or to book a counselling session, I would like to invite you to get in touch with me by calling 07920 342882 or use the contact form to email me.

Please have a look at The Lighthouse Counselling Partnership website for more information or send an email here.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Between us we can address many areas that may be concerning you including anxiety, depression, loneliness and bereavement as well as fears arising from the current pandemic. We have been working online for the past 18 months during Covid however we have recently started up face to face sessions one day per week and also continue to see clients online.  We are qualified psychodynamic counsellors and offer affordable rates to ensure widespread accessibility.

Finding a therapist can be a daunting task and you may worry about how counselling works or you may wonder how it can help you.  Firstly, it is important for us to talk over any concerns you may have before the initial meeting to make sure you are happy.  We offer a free initial phone call. If you are over 18 please call or send an email to find out more and I will explain how we work.
