About me
I am currently offering online and telephone sessions.
I am a qualified Counsellor and Crisis Worker offering a confidential counselling service in the Istead Rise and Gravesend area of Kent. I have specialist training in individual, couples counselling, relationship issues, child counselling, infertility and adoption. I also hold professional membership to the Association of Counselling and Therapy Online.
Counselling provides a regular time and space for clients to talk about their problems and stress and explore difficult feelings in a supportive, safe and non-judgemental environment which is confidential. As a counsellor I respect the client’s viewpoint whilst helping them deal with specific problems, cope with crises, anxiety and depression, improve their relationships and develop a less stressful way of living. Counsellors do not offer advice, but instead help the client to gain insight and understanding into their behaviour and thought patterns.
I place great value on the relationship between client/clients and counsellor as this, in my experience, proves to be the single most important factor in a successful outcome. I offer you a safe, confidential, empathic and non-judgemental environment with space and time to explore your issues, fears and difficulties. Throughout the counselling process the focus will be on working through the issues with the aim of moving towards a more satisfying, fulfilling and contented life. I work short or long term - whichever we agree is appropriate for you.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP). Because of my training I can offer counselling to individuals, couples, children and students facing a wide range of personal issues and challenges.
I am also a supervisor, qualified to supervise other counsellors and provide them with training.
I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) which ensures information is protected under the Data Protection Act, and I am compliant with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
