About me

Hi, I’m Deb - a qualified counsellor supporting children, young people, and adults.

Life can feel overwhelming. Fast. Demanding. Heavy. It can affect your mood, your relationships with family or friends, your energy - and sometimes, it just feels like too much.

Whether it’s you or your child struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, identity questions, school or work pressures, or simply feeling stuck - you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

I offer a warm, inclusive space where you’ll be genuinely heard and accepted. We’ll go at your pace - there’s no rush. Sometimes, what we need most is simply a moment to pause, breathe, and be.

Counselling with me can take different forms. For some, talking therapy works. For others, a more creative approach can help - especially when words are hard to find. However you express yourself, we’ll work together to find what feels right for you.

While I work with people of all ages, I have a particular interest in supporting young people exploring identity and neurodiversity.

Recognising and embracing neurodivergent traits - whether diagnosed or self-identified - can be powerful when a person starts to becomes more comfortable with who they are and gains insight into how they work and why.

I also support those navigating identity, whether related to gender, neurodivergence, family roles, or simply understanding who you are - and who you’re becoming.

A little About Me

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in education and adult social care. Ive witnessed how important it is for children to be heard emotionally - not just supported academically. In adult services, I became aware of the often unmet need for emotional support during life transitions or after major changes in health or independence
Across both roles, one truth has stayed with me: everyone deserves a space where they can be truly heard without judgment. That’s what drew me to counselling, to offer that safe, compassionate space where you (or your child) can reflect, heal, and grow, in your own way and time.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
