About me
Feeling safe in therapy will be a core part of our work because this will allow you to visit the things you might have turned away from before. I'm here to help you understand yourself better and to find greater wellbeing, happiness and balance in your life.
Counselling is a very personal journey and you will bring your own history, concerns and hopes. I'm there to support you in moving closer to the life you want. You may have very clear goals in mind or you may simply want space to explore past events or current behaviours which are holding you back.
In your first session, I want you to feel safe and know that your wellbeing will always be at the heart of the work we do together. My role is to hold a secure space for you to bring whatever you wish to our sessions, without judgment.
I offer some face to face sessions but most of my work is online, allowing me to work with clients across the UK and Ireland, as well as those farther afield.
You can expect to work with me weekly or fortnightly.
I work across all common areas of practice but have particular interest and expertise in:
- Academic coaching / exam preparation
- ADHD
- Adolescents and Young Adults
- Ageing
- Anxiety
- Chronic illness
- Couples / Relationship Dynamics
- Creative professionals (coaching and / or therapy)
- Depression
- Disability
- Domestic Abuse recovery and rebuilding
- Life transitions (Career change, Maternity Leave, Retirement)
- Looked After Children and Care Leavers
- Low Confidence
- Men's Issues (stages of life, identity, 'emotional literacy', communication, anger and reactivity)
- Neurodivergence
- Self-esteem issues
- Shame
- Students and early adulthood
- Women's Issues and health (stages of life, identity, pregnancy, motherhood, menopause)
Training, qualifications & experience
I have 20+ years of experience in mental health, social services with Looked After Children, and education and training. Although my core training was in Integrative Counselling, I have chosen to specialise in IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy. I am IFS Institute Trained at Level 1 and 2 and IFIO Trained at Level 2. I am an active participant in the IFS Continuing Education Programme and peer communities. My work with couples and other dynamics is through IFS.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work as an Integrative Counsellor, with a special interest in IFS (Internal Family Systems) Therapy. I am trained at Level 1 and 2 by the IFS Institute, with a special focus on Anxiety, Depression & Shame. I work with adults individually, in couples or in other groupings. My work with couples and groups is through Internal Family Systems and I am Level 2 Trained in IFIO by the IFS Institute. I also work with young people aged 12 plus.
As we say in the IFS community, All Parts are welcome. We all have a complex history and inner world, and however we work together in therapy, you will get to know this inner world better, leading to greater ease and harmony - not only with others but within yourself.
My hope is that you will experience me as approachable, warm and non-judgemental. I work integratively (blending person-centred, psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) but where appropriate and/or by request will work extensively with Internal Family Systems therapy as a Self-led therapist. This includes IFIO (Intimacy From the Inside Out), the IFS Institute approved therapy for couples and other relational dynamics.
I recommend contacting me by email.
