About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or finding it difficult to make sense of what you're experiencing? Perhaps you're looking for a space where you can feel genuinely heard and understood.

I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor with a relational approach. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where we can explore your experiences at your own pace.

I believe our relationships can have a powerful influence on how we see ourselves and the world around us. The ways we have been understood, valued, accepted or responded to can shape how we come to understand ourselves. This is why relationships are an important part of my work, even when counselling is individual.

Together, we can explore your experiences, emotions and patterns with curiosity and compassion, considering whether patterns that once helped you still serve you today.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, holding a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and Registered Membership with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

My practice is informed by Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches, alongside relational, systemic and narrative perspectives. I have completed foundation training in Family Therapy (AFT) and Peer-Supported Open Dialogue (APOD).

I am currently undertaking a Level 5 Diploma in Relational Counselling with Relate, further developing my skills in couples and relationship counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic ideas rather than following one fixed model. My training includes Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches, alongside my developing knowledge of relational, systemic and narrative approaches.

I work collaboratively, adapting our work to your individual needs, preferences and goals. Together, we can explore what feels most helpful rather than expecting you to fit a particular therapeutic model.

For example, if anxiety is affecting you physically, we might explore how you notice this in your body alongside your thoughts, emotions, relationships and wider experiences. We can then consider different ways of understanding and responding to what you are experiencing.

Further information

What to expect:

Starting counselling can feel daunting, so I aim to make the process as simple and comfortable as possible.

We begin with a free introductory call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, share what has brought you to counselling and decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.

If we decide to work together, we will begin building our therapeutic relationship and explore what feels important to you. We will work collaboratively, agreeing the focus of our sessions and reviewing our work together as we progress.

You do not need to know exactly what you want to talk about before starting. Counselling is a space where we can explore your experiences together, at a pace that feels right for you.
