About me

Hi, I’m David. Thanks for being here.

Reaching out for support is a meaningful step, and it’s completely okay if it feels a little uncertain or uncomfortable. You have already taken the first move toward understanding yourself better, and that matters.

I’m a counsellor with a solid background in integrative and person‑centred therapy, as well as additional training in safeguarding, GDPR, and solution‑focused approaches. Over the past few years, I’ve worked with clients facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, abuse, low self-esteem, confidence concerns, and depression.

My focus is on creating a safe, grounded therapeutic space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. I bring empathy, respect, and clarity into each session, and I work in a way that adapts to your individual needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Your experiences, strengths, and goals guide the direction of our work together.

Whether you’re trying to make sense of past experiences, manage overwhelming emotions, or build confidence and resilience, we’ll take things at a pace that feels right for you. My aim is to support you in developing deeper understanding, greater emotional balance, and a stronger sense of your own agency.

If you’re thinking about starting therapy, I’m here when you’re ready.
Feel free to get in touch to arrange your first session. Together, we can explore what you need and work toward a more grounded, steady, and fulfilling way forward.

Professional Memberships: BACP

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I have experience delivering short‑term, solution‑focused counselling to a wide range of clients, supporting individuals dealing with workplace stress, anxiety, and personal difficulties. My work has included helping employees manage challenging situations, develop coping strategies, and build confidence in both their personal and professional lives.

A key part of my role involved thorough risk assessment and safeguarding practice. I am confident in identifying risk, making appropriate referrals, and ensuring client safety at all times, in line with professional and organisational guidelines.

I maintain clear and accurate clinical notes, always handled with the highest level of confidentiality and in full compliance with GDPR and employer‑assistance programme (EAP) standards.

My approach is flexible and responsive, adapting to the needs of both clients and the organisations I support. This includes experience with brief intervention work, solution‑focused sessions, and supporting individuals during return‑to‑work processes after periods of stress, burnout, or emotional difficulty.
