About me
Hello, my name is David, and I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Director of Clinical Psychology at Bloomfield Health. I have worked in NHS mental health services, including in senior clinical roles, for more than 15 years. In my private practice through Bloomfield Health I offer individualised and tailored psychological therapy for adults. I specialise in working with people facing challenges such as depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, body image concerns, and difficulties in relationships. I have a particular interest in LGBTQ+ mental health. My approach is compassionate, collaborative and goal-focused.
I offer evidence-based and effective psychological therapy, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), couple therapy and psychodynamic approaches. In our first meeting we will discuss the issues you want help with before making a plan for what therapy might involve. I offer a flexible approach that is unique to each person and their circumstances.
Starting therapy can be really daunting. My aim is to offer a non-judgemental, compassionate and safe environment to explore your difficulties and hopefully support you in making changes that are going to improve your wellbeing and relationships.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2011 and have been working in NHS mental health services since then, alongside private practice and teaching/academic roles. I have held senior leadership positions within NHS mental health services and have undertaken specialist post-graduate training in a range of evidence-based psychological therapies. My post-graduate qualifications include:
* 2011 - Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Royal Holloway, University of London)
* 2012 - PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (King’s College London)
* 2018 - PGCert Behavioural Couple Therapy (Royal Holloway, University of London)
* 2025 - Diploma in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (Anna Freud Centre, London)
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
