Integrative Counsellor MBACP

About me

Do you feel stuck? Is this causing you anxiety or depression? Do you feel that you are not living your best life? Perhaps it may a good idea to explore this with someone who is a kind, empathic listener within a confidential environment.

Hello, my name is Dave. I am an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer a safe space where we can explore what has brought you to counselling together.

My counselling approach is person-centred which means I will help you to explore and develop your own self-awareness in a non-judgemental and supportive environment at a pace that suits you. I sometimes combine elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in my practice particularly for clients who are experiencing anxiety related symptoms.

I believe that counselling can be an exploration into a person’s sense of self. That can lead to a more empowered person with a higher sense of resilience when navigating life's issues and challenges. It is a privilege for me to collaborate with someone who is struggling in their life and be able to witness them become the person they want to be. This is an incredibly rewarding experience for my clients as well as myself.

I can help you with a variety of challenges including bereavement, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and work-related stress.

I offer both short and long-term counselling in person, online or by phone.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
