About me
How do you choose a therapist? Personal recommendations are invaluable and, also, your individual needs might be different from your friend’s. My endeavour is to facilitate your self awareness - particularly with your ‘felt sense’ - but also your thoughts and your ways of seeing others and situations. Whichever modality of therapy you choose the emphasis will be on gently directing your awareness to ‘what is happening but, also, to how you are viewing and applying yourself to any such difficulties. This may involve noticing how the past informs the present but it may not. This can be radically different to many ‘non directive’ therapies. This can involve real change quite quickly!
Professional bodies:
UKCP for psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling
BABCP for CBT. No other body registers CBT therapists. I provide ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) informed CBT
Mindfulness teachers: Some people took a weekend course and call themselves mindfulness teachers. I have a long background with this, training and learning in the 90’s under Akong Rinpoche but, also a Western academic qualification at Masters level.
I cost a bit more and, though I offer reduced slots these are usually taken, so if you are looking for a cheap therapist I'm probably not for you?
I have worked as a therapist since 1996 & I worked as a therapist in NHS for 17 years! I have been through many personal and significant life changes and challenges so you will get someone who is real and open with you https://www.mindful-therapy.uk/about-me/
I have had 3 distinct separate trainings. This is not the same as integrative which means only one training! I am fully trained to Masters level qualifications in 3 distinct therapeutic approaches:
- CBT Psychotherapy. Trained at University of Herts. There are many pseudo CBT therapists on this site and others. Only BABCP members are qualified to provide CBT therapy and these can be found here: http://www.cbtregisteruk.com/
- UKCP registered Psychotherapists are required to have a 5 yr training and 4 years of personal therapy and often work more 'in depth' to become registered. I trained at Middlesex University accredited Regents University. Only registered psychotherapists can be found here: https://www.psychotherapy.org.uk/find-a-therapist/
- Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) & Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Masters level PgDip at Bangor University centre for mindfullness research and practice. Trained in Kagyu Bhuddism under Akong Rinpoche's guidance
I recommend you shop around and do research about professional bodies! I have worked as a Counsellor providing Psychological therapies for over 25 years. I am sorry but I cannot usually take calls, I'm usually fully booked and when slots become available they are only available in the day-times. If you are not put off perhaps you could text me on 07866372021? I do hope you find what you need.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I am able to work with Spiritual dimensions of being due to my long training in Eastern (Tibetan) approaches to mind as well as Middle Eastern approaches to mindfulness and presence. I am passionate about being able to work within a 'Faith' and/or spiritual context no matter what your background.
