About me
Hi, I'm Danny,
An Integrative Counsellor based in Norwich, which is just a fancy way of saying I draw from different approaches to counselling, depending on what feels right for you. But more than that, I'm a person first and a counsellor second. I think what helps in counselling is the connection we build. So feeling comfortable, safe and supported is the starting point for everything.
People come to me with all kinds of things- anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, complicated relationships, or just feeling stuck. I offer a calm, caring space where we can gently explore what's going on for you, without judgment. My aim is always to listen deeply, meet you where you are, and work with you to make sense of things in a manageable and meaningful way.
I believe trust is key. Without it, those tight, tangled-up feelings often don't shift. So I will always be real with you, consistent and respectful of you are. My values are rooted in honesty, kindness, and acceptance, and I genuinely believe that everyone has the ability to heal and grow, given the proper support.
What to expect
Getting started with counselling can feel like a bit of a leap, so I aim to make it as relaxed and straightforward as possible. Whether you'd prefer to meet in person at my city centre office or talk online from the comfort of your own home, we'll find a setup that works for you.
When you first contact us by email, text, or phone, we'll have a quick informal chat to arrange a time that suits you. There is no pressure, no forms, just a friendly conversation to see if you'd like to book a first session.
That first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. You don't need to prepare anything or have all the answers. It's fine to show up as you are. We'll talk a bit about what's going on for you and what you might be hoping for from counselling. I'll explain how I work, and you can ask any questions you like. If it feels like a good fit, we can look at setting up regular sessions.
Whether you're sitting across from me in the room or tuning in online with a cuppa of tea in your hand, this time is yours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BSc(Hons) in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). That means I work to high professional and ethical standards and continue to learn and grow in my practice.
Over the past 5 years, I've supported clients, and it's been deeply humbling work and taught me just how important safety, trust, and compassion are in the counselling room.
To keep up today with societal changes and ever-evolving theories and models, I am continuously learning. I have completed training in:
OCD, surviving male sexual abuse, ADHD strategies and eating disorders, to name a few.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
