About me
Welcome to Richmond Counselling: A Safe Space to Heal and Grow
Hello, I’m Daniela
I’m an experienced BACP Registered Integrative Psychotherapist & Relationship Coach. My approach integrates deep emotional attunement and pattern recognition, drawing on attachment and relational frameworks to understand how individuals experience themselves and others. I also consider the broader context of modern life, including how technology, identity, and neurodivergent processing can shape the way people think, feel, communicate, and connect with the world around them.
Who I Work With
I support individuals & couples from all walks of life, often with issues such as:
- Anxiety, Stress, Low mood/Depression
- Low self-esteem, Self-image concerns
- Relationship challenges
- Bereavement, Loss, Family difficulties
- Loneliness, Trust issues
- Abuse, ADHD, Addictions
- For young people, I support challenges around school stress, family difficulties, anxiety, self-identity, and confidence.
Your First Session
Your first session lasts around 50-60 minutes and is a chance for us to get started in a clear and structured way.
First, we will explore what has brought you to therapy right now and what feels most difficult or confusing for you. You do not need to prepare anything or know where to start — we will take it one step at a time.
Next, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, focusing on patterns that may affect your self-image, emotions, or relationships. I may ask specific questions to help organise your thoughts and make things feel less overwhelming.
We will then look at what you would like to change or understand better, and what support might be most helpful for you. This could include practical strategies, emotional support, or simply creating space to think and reflect.
Toward the end of the session, we will check in on how the session felt for you, what was useful, and whether anything needs adjusting. Therapy is collaborative and flexible, and we will shape the work together so it feels supportive, focused, and manageable.
A Bit About Me
I’m a London-based therapist with over 13 years of professional experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate challenges in life. My journey into therapy began with studying Psychoanalytic Studies at the Anna Freud Centre, where I developed a deep understanding of how early experiences and unconscious processes shape our emotional lives. I then moved on to learn how to practice Deep Hypnosis, wordweaving the mind through the careful use of words. And later on trained to become an Integrative Psychotherapist to complete the circle of my "psychological therapy" journey.
Outside of work, I live and work in the beautiful area of Richmond where I enjoy long walks and runs in Richmond Park and Kew Gardens, exploring local cafés, and practising mindfulness. I am a proud mum of three preadolescent children, which places another more exciting, although a challenging layer to my life.
Having personally experienced the benefits of therapy, I value balance between work and rest, and caring for yourself as well as others. I strive to help my clients discover self-compassion, grow their confidence, and make meaningful relationships.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
