About me
Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
I am a trained couples therapist, professionally qualified therapeutic counsellor and mindfulness teacher.
ADHD, Autism and AuADHD, are areas of expertise for me, by which I mean skills learnt and knowledge gathered over decades of lived experience, years spent working with and learning from neurodivergent couples and individuals, personal research and self-directed learning.
Many of my clients are either late diagnosed, long time diagnosed, or undiagnosed. I understand how much of a challenge neurodivergence can be for both you individually and as a couple. I am very aware of how, within a relationship, differing neurotypes can also raise potentially tricky and difficult problems to overcome.
My approach to psychotherapy is straight forward, I believe that if you talk to people through the story of your life and those that influenced you, you too can change lives. I am very fortunate to have lived a long and varied life, influenced by many great teachers, wonderful clients, colleagues, family and friends.
I offer solution focused psychotherapy for both couples and individuals. I use tried and tested tools designed to repair relationship fractures or breakdowns and alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and loss. Powerful tools that can help you reframe and remove the underlying causes of your greatest challenges, a personalised toolkit for long lasting change.
Research has shown that the single most important factor for a successful outcome from counselling is the strength of the working relationship between client and therapist. This is exactly why I offer and insist on a free of charge no obligation video prior to our first session, an opportunity for you to get a feel as to whether I am the right therapist for you.
I am a modern therapist who brings his open authentic self, I keep my knowledge up to date and use the latest understanding from the field of neuroscience. I believe any change we desire for ourselves is possible.
I look forward to working with you.
Warmest regards
Daniel

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information
My fees are designed to be fair, reasonable, and accessible. I offer discounts if you book your sessions as a block.
If you are working with me for couples counselling, please bear in mind when considering whether to work with me that my sessions are 1 1/2 hours rather than 50 minutes, and that my sessions are fortnightly as opposed to weekly. Longer sessions fortnightly allows more time and space for discovery and reflection. More time for new strategies and thinking to embed themselves in your relationship, and test what does and doesn't work for you.
