About me
I'm a qualified, BACP registered practitioner with many years experience, working face-to-face in Littlehampton, West Sussex as well as offering online therapy to people throughout the UK. I provide a free 30 minute Zoom or telephone consultation and work with adults from age 15 up.
The purpose of the introductory consultation is to discuss how we'll work together, answer any questions you may have regarding myself and/or counselling in general, clarify what issues you want help with and to establish a rapport.
I've been lucky enough to have worked with clients from 17 to 82 years old, helping them to deal with Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Stress, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Low Mood, Suicidal Ideation, Relationship and family Issues, Body Dysmorphia, Adverse Childhood Experiences, Emotional Abuse, Narcissistic relationships, Low self-esteem, bullying and many other issues.
My Person Centred/Psychodynamic approach to counselling
Being person centred means that I respect and support your autonomy allowing you to bring whatever concerns you wish and at a pace you are comfortable with. I will endeavour to empathise with your perspective, be non-judgmental and offer a secure, confidential and safe environment within which to explore issues together. I am a very compassionate person which I have found invaluable in building that warm, secure relationship I believe is at the heart of healing.
Where appropriate I will incorporate a psychodynamic approach. This helps us to recognise that current emotional difficulties, limitting beliefs, patterns of behaviour and relating to others often arises due to troubling experiences from our past and that exploring/resolving those experiences can offer deep insight and healing in the present.
CBT techniques may be used to challenge negative thinking patterns and psychoeducation - explaining aspects of how our minds 'work' - will be ongoing.
I am a lifelong student of the human condition, philosophy, spirituality and psychology. With the stresses and strains of the modern world so many of us are unaware of our amazing capacity for change, fulfilment and happiness. I cannot guarantee you will achieve all you want to. No-one can. But I guarantee you my utmost endeavour and profoundest commitment to your well-being.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Testimonial
"Thank you so much Danny, I've absolutely loved our sessions and you honestly have made things so much clearer in a way I wasn't able to see before. I'm so grateful to you for the advice and 'tools' you have given me and I'm already seeing positive changes in my life and relationship.
I'll miss talking to you but I'll definitely be in touch again if I'm in need"
