Qualified Integrative Counsellor, MBACP

About me

You don’t have to face everything on your own. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, low, or just unsure where to turn, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can talk things through.

I'm a qualified therapeutic counsellor committed to compassion, inclusivity, and authenticity. My approach is shaped not only by my training but also by my lived experiences, including my journey with disability and mental health. As a wheelchair user, I understand how it can feel to navigate a world that isn’t always built to include us. This gives me a unique perspective and a deep respect for difference and identity in all its forms.

I work integratively as a counsellor, meaning I draw from different models depending on what brings you to counselling. I use elements of Person-Centred Therapy,(PCT),  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Transactional Analysis (TA) to support you in the most helpful way, although I have a particular passion for the person-centred approach as it puts you at the heart of our work together. Whether you're looking for tools to manage anxiety or low mood, space to explore your identity, or support in making sense of life’s challenges, I will meet you where you are.

My background before becoming a counsellor, in literature, sociology, gender studies, and women’s studies, helps me work with an intersectional lens. I consider how things like gender, disability, class, and societal expectations shape your experiences and the way you see yourself. Therapy with me is a non-judgmental space where you can reflect, gain clarity, and grow at your own pace.

I welcome women, men, trans, and non-binary clients. I'm especially passionate about working with those who have felt marginalised or misunderstood. I hope to walk alongside you as you gain more confidence and understanding.

If you're looking for a counsellor who offers real-life insight, emotional honesty, and a collaborative approach, please feel free to contact me by email or phone. We can have a chat and see if it feels like the right fit.

Sessions last 50 minutes and can be weekly or fortnightly, depending on what works for you. I offer online sessions and in-person weekend appointments at my office in Cheadle Hulme. I currently have availability for some face to face sessions on Monday afternoons also at premises in Romiley.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
