About me
I guess the most important thing to consider is – Can you trust me or do you feel like we could work together?
If you have not had counselling before, don't be scared. It may help you to know that counsellors have had to go through their own counselling in order to be competent to work with you - We've all sat in that chair !
It’s a very important part of our training, because how can we support you to understand how you might be feeling, if we have never experienced what happens as a client in counselling ?
So... what kind of person am I? well... I trained to be a Humanistic counsellor after having some big issues in my own personal life.
An experienced Counsellor supported me to explore how to change what was worrying me and I knew then that I wanted to be able to support others to learn more about themselves and make changes to their lifestyle or relationships for a better future.
I see clients via this website, the BACP website, GP referral, EAP (Employment Assistance Programme) POFA referral or recommendation.
I have a successful private practice for individuals and couples, and more recently I've added online therapy to my caseload.
I believe online counselling is the way forward, making therapy available to everyone, including shift workers and those with certain disabilities and based at home.
So that explains the last twenty years of my life. If there’s anything else you would like to know, just send me a private message, or give me a call - that's probably the most difficult part... but if you've read this far, I guess you're ready to start moving forward in your life. Good luck x

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

A disruption to the usual dynamic in a relationship will encourage couples into counselling to enable support with communication and conflict resolution
As a RELATE trained therapist Relationship counselling is currently the most popular therapy I offer due to the current Covid pandemic and the fact that couples have been isolated for longer periods of time.
Covid has been instrumental in transferring my skills onto the Online platform and I combine my practice using face to face sessions alongside online work to offer a more flexible approach to clients
