About me
I use a Humanistic approach, also known as Person Centred or Client Led, and my approach also involves somatic experience (the mind-body connection). This means I view you as the expert of your life – I am not the clinical, stone-faced professional that will tell you what to do or will just sit there analysing you – I will build a nurturing, therapeutic relationship with you where you can discover who you are and what you need. Humanistic therapy is holistic and works with the here-and-now experience as well as the past. It emphasises becoming our most authentic self, actualising our needs, creating our own meaning and narratives, and viewing the person as a whole being, which includes the person’s embodied experience and relationship to the body.
I believe that we all deserve to have a voice and agency over our lives, but many of us find ourselves feeling powerless, lost, discontent or in despair. Not only can our personal lives be challenging, the world we live in can make those challenges even harder to overcome. Having a consistent, weekly session just for yourself can provide an outlet and shed the burdens.
I am experienced in providing support for LGBTQ+ issues, but anyone is welcome to reach out, whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or otherwise. My practice is neurodivergent friendly, with particular experience in ADHD.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am qualified in a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Counselling & Psychotherapy at Brighton University, which equates to a master's level of training. I am registered with the BACP and abide by their ethical framework.
Previously, I studied English Literature at degree level and gained an MA in Creative Writing. Expression and having a voice is important to me, and it is just as important that my clients can have expression and a voice in the room with me.
I volunteered with MindOut as a counsellor for more than two years offering support to LGBTQ+ adults. My own Practice takes place at an LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse friendly therapy hub.
I have lived experience, clinical work, research and have undertaken years of my own personal therapy. I continue to take courses and CPD to gain knowledge and understanding. My approach is Humanistic, somatic and client-led, allowing you to take the direction of your counselling rather than me telling you what to do, whilst still offering gentle challenge, curiosity and insights. A Humanistic approach emphasises the importance of having choice and to become our truest selves. I incorporate the mind-body connection and somatic awareness as our embodied experience is just as important as the words we speak.
The majority of my clients are transgender, queer and neurodiverse and so I have a lot of expertise in supporting this demographic, but anyone who does not fit neatly into any spectrum or does not identify as LGBTQ+ is welcome to reach out.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Standard fee is £70 and £60 for students. Online fee is also reduced at £60.
My fees reflect the amount of time and training that has gone into my profession, the further courses and trainings I continue to do to keep my practice up to date and the expenses required.
It's helpful to think of it as an investment into your well-being, peace of mind and a space that is all about you – the results from therapy, which are usually lifelong, end up being priceless and life changing.
