About me

Living with difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences can drain our energy and affect the quality of our lives. We all need support from time to time, and talking with a therapist in a confidential and supportive setting can help us understand ourselves better and consider what we would like to change in our lives.

Sometimes, asking for support can be difficult; I therefore invite you to get in touch, and we can have an informal chat to explore together whether I am the right therapist for you.

My accepting and thoughtful approach has been particularly supportive to clients looking for support with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, internalised critical messages, feeling stuck, shame and relationship problems.

I work with individuals, people in relationships (couple counselling/relationship counselling) and people who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training

I completed four years on the taught part of the MSc Relational Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy programme at the Metanoia Institute in Ealing, London. I hold a Clinical Postgraduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in Transactional Analysis studies (counselling and psychotherapy), Middlesex University, London. My training included working with individuals, couples/relationships and groups.

I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have more than ten years of experience working with people in a psychotherapeutic setting.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), registration number 376997, as well as the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA), the International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis (IARTA), and the Metanoia Institute and abide by their ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

My counselling is LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Plus) and GSRD (Gender, Sexuality, Relationship Diversity) affirmative.
