About me

Choosing a therapist can be daunting, whether this is your first time and you are not exactly sure what it is all about or whether you have had counselling in the past and are looking to return.

I provide a confidential and accepting space for you to safely explore your thoughts and feelings, perhaps there are parts of yourself that you do not fully understand that may be getting in the way of you feeling grounded or at ease with yourself and others.

This is a collaborative process for you to openly talk about your experiences, in a safe, compassionate and empathic environment where you can reflect, think and make effective changes.

I am a qualified, registered and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor working with individuals and couples.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety or stress due to work or relationship problems.
  • Poor self esteem and self confidence.
  • Major life changes, such as the break up of a relationship, the death of a loved one, or the loss of a job.
  • Finding and understanding yourself, and break-out of self-defeating patterns.
  • Recovering from emotional, physical, sexual abuse, or witnessing violence.
  • Resolving concerns about sexuality or sexual or gender identity.
  • Dealing with and understanding the emotional effects of dyslexia.
  • Couples with a focus on your relationship and how you interact, and sex.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I trained at the Metanoia Institute, one of the leading clinical and academic institutions for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) registration number 376997 and abide by their ethical framework.

I am also a member of the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA), the International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis (IARTA) and the Metanoia Institute.

I have worked with a broad range of clients of different ages, religions, cultures, sexualities and background at the Metanoia Counselling Psychotherapy Service, Wimbledon Guild Counselling service and in private practice.

I meet regularly with a clinical supervisor to review and support my work. This is standard practice and helps me to work as well as I can with you. Your name or any other identifying information is never shared, and my supervisor is bound by the same code of ethics that I am.

I attend regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops to keep my skills and knowledge up-to-date.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have a particular interest in our differences, whatever the difference may be, race, gender, culture, religion, social class, physical or learning disability. Our differences shape our view of the world, and may limit our ability embrace each others differences positively reducing opportunity for connection.

My counselling is LGBTQ+ / GSRD affirmative, I fully accept your sexual and gender identity, and do not view these fundamental parts of you as things that need treating or changing.

I also work with clients who are dealing with and understanding the emotional effects of dyslexia.

I am passionate about my work as it is exciting to see people change and develop into their authentic selves. Counselling is not only a space for working through difficult issues, it is also an environment where growth and personal development can bring further creativity, spontaneity and enjoyment to one’s life.
