About me

I am aware how daunting it is to embark on a journey of exploration of yourself, so I provide a safe, confidential, non judgmental space from which to work on whatever you are finding difficult at this time.

I will walk with you on your journey as you explore different ways to untangle and make sense of your thoughts and feelings so you can gain a better understanding of yourself, working towards acceptance and confidence.

With Trauma I can help you to :

Find Calm: Regain a sense of safety and control in your body and mind.

Process Pain: Gently work through difficult memories without being re-traumtised.

Reconnect: rebulid trust, improve relationships, and rediscover joy.

I offer face-to-face, zoom, or telephone sessions - whatever works the best for you and makes you feel comfortable.

Why me?

For the last 10 years I have worked in private practice and for the Haven (survivors of abuse network)  I have experience with a diverse client range including men, women & young persons from different ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds.

I have experience supporting people who suffer with anxiety, depression , eating disorders, suicidal thoughts, bereavement and all types of abuse including, but not limited to psychological, emotional, childhood sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, human trafficking, PTSD and trauma. This sometimes overlaps with other issues that impact their lives. I have also trained and worked with Place2be, counselling teens and young children in a school setting.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
