About me

Hello and welcome to my page. Do you find yourself feeling stuck? Are you finding it hard to cope? Do you feel sad, lonely, overwhelmed or anxious? If so, I am here to help.

I'm an experienced integrative counsellor and my style of therapy is warm, empathic and down to earth.

I can help you to clarify your thoughts, feelings & emotions so you may be better equipped to make more conscious choices that can improve the quality of your life and well-being.

Together we can work through and help you gain a better insight on whatever issues may have brought you to therapy.

I offer face-to-face, zoom, or telephone sessions - whatever works the best for you and makes you feel comfortable.

Why me?

It may be daunting for you to consider the first steps of counselling, but my aim is to help you to feel safe enough to talk openly about things you might find difficult, and to provide a non-judgmental, safe and confidential place to start your journey. I am passionate and professional about the work I do and the utmost importance to use different therapeutic approaches to suit each individual.

For the last 8 years I have worked for the Haven (Survivors of Abuse Network) and I have experience with a diverse client range including men, women & young persons from different ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds.

I have experience supporting people who suffer with anxiety, depression and all types of abuse including, but not limited to psychological, emotional, childhood sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, human trafficking, PTSD and trauma. This sometimes overlaps with other issues that impact their lives. I have also trained and worked with Place2be, counselling teens and young children in a school setting.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
